English: This bhajan, titled 'mor mukut rang kaleyaa', is about Lord Krishna. It says that Lord Krishna is of dark complexion and has peacock feathers in his crown and is a pleasant sight to behold. This song is in the Kangri dialect of Hindi also known as Pahari. This song is recorded at a Kirtan (religious gathering where women sing religious folk songs) at a house in the village of Skow on the outskirts of Dharamshala city in the mountainous state of Himachal Pradesh in North India. Four percussion instruments are used in the recording. They are locally called dholak, chimtaa, chhena & kansiya. |
